First review of the year!

First things first - Happy New Year!! I hope your holidays were amazing.

Now, onto the important stuff!

My first review of the new year is of the brand new, Young Adult novel Chasing Ravens by the very talented Jessica Paige. This young adult novel drew in this not-so-young adult from page one. From the varied emotions that I felt, to rooting for Anouk, I absolutely LOVED this book!

At the age of 15, Anouk has lost her mother, father and grandmother. Forced to leave the only home she knows in Pagor, Anouk is sent to live in Stradat with her uncle Petr, whom she had never met. From the moment she arrived she was uncomfortable, and that only grew with time.

After a confrontation with her cousin's potential suitor, Petr quickly betrothed to Boris, who is rumored to have worked his last two wives to their graves. Not interested in marriage, Anouk slips out in the dead of night, taking her uncles' horse, Lucya, and attempts to find her way back to Pagor.

Along the way, Anouk becomes lost in a forest. After finding a magnificent black horse in the woods, she comes to the town of Devya.

What does Devya hold for Anouk's future? How will its past affect her? What of the myths of the Dark Woods?

Find out for yourself when you read this wonderful novel!

♥♥♥♥♥ (5 Hearts from me!)
